Two authors from The League of Extraordinary Authors volunteered their time to visit Moseley Elementary School in Palatka, Florida today to kick off Literacy Week.
N. Jane Quackenbush, fueled the excitement that reading can bring when she spoke to K-2nd grade students about her educational children’s book, The Rocket Ship Bed Trip, showing them how writing can bring your dreams to life.
Christina Benjamin engaged 3rd – 5th grade students with her book trailer and wild imagination she uses to develop the magical world full of adventure in her fiction series, The Geneva Project. She also spoke about how she got into writing and what inspires her work.
Literacy week encourages students to connect literacy with all kinds of careers, believing that “Reading Accelerates Success!” The spirit of Literacy Week was contagious at Moseley Elementary. Students where delighted to find out that their school had purchased copies of both books for their classrooms and couldn’t wait for a chance to start reading. They asked educated questions and were thrilled for a chance to meet with the authors and have their pictures taken.
